Cadw

The Welsh word ‘cadw’ means to keep or to preserve. Cadw is also the name of the Welsh Government’s historic environment service. It conserves and manages 130 properties across Wales, including castles, abbeys, churches and ancient monuments, all telling the story of our proud heritage.

Cadw sites are a focal point for making the history of Wales interesting and understandable. This is done in many ways, including information panels, audio presentations and site guidebooks. There is also a lively programme of activities, performances, living history days and demonstrations.

I have had a very long working relationship with Cadw. In fact, it is my oldest client. As well as designing the current logo, I have been responsible for designing the extensive suite of site guidebooks, information pamphlets, foreign language guides, books, infographics, exhibition panels and a huge range of marketing material — all of which are available bilingually.

Featured below is a tiny representation of some of my work for Cadw.
