Poppies at Caernarfon Castle

Caernarfon Castle was the first location in Wales to host Poppies: Weeping Window by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper, during the First World War centenary commemorations between 2015 and 2018. I was asked by my client, Cadw, to design an exclusive pattern to be used on a range of merchandise for the castle gift shop during the event. The design was to feature red poppies, the symbol of remembrance, after the flowers which grew on the battlefields when World War I ended.

My design works in just three spot colours — an economical option for items which will be screen printed, such as t-shirts, tea towels or tote bags.

You can license any of my existing patterns for use on your own products. Browse the ‘Surface Pattern Design’ section of this website. Alternatively you can commission me to design a unique pattern exclusively for you. Get in touch!
